Police detained three people from in front of the main opposition Bangladesh Nationalist Party central office at Naya Paltan in Dhaka Wednesday morning.

Members of Paltan Model Police Station detained the three people at about 11:00am on Wednesday while they started chanting slogans supporting the ongoing blockade called by BNP and its allies in the ongoing one-point movement.

Paltan police station officer-in-charge Md Salah Uddin Mia said that the three were detained as they were trying to create violence.

Witnesses said that around 10 leaders and activities lead by Raihanul Rana, who introduced himself as the president of Janata Dal, took a stand in front of the central office of BNP at Naya Paltan at about 11:00am.

At that time, they began to chant slogans in support of the ongoing blockade.

However, within 10 minutes, they were dispersed from there by the police.

At that time, three people were also detained from the spot.

However, Police did not reveal the names of the detainees.

The three detainees were taken to Paltan  police station for interrogation.
